Central Park Warblers
Ellen Michaels, formerly a model, is a wildlife and nature photographer specializing in photos of the birds, butterflies, insects, and flowers of Central Park in New York City.
Millions of people visit Central Park yearly. With its abundance of birds, over 280 species, visitors from all over the world enjoy this great location for birding.
These are pictures of some of the warblers you might see if you go birding in Central Park during spring migration, mid April-May, and fall migration, August-November.
During these peak periods there are at least 36 warbler species that pass through Central Park. And, they are, of course, the main attraction during migration.
The best spots to see them foraging for insects are the Ramble, the Maintenance Meadow, the Loch, and the Conservatory Garden.
This gallery features my photos of these colorful, fast-moving visitors, highlighting common species like the Yellow-rumped Warbler and the Magnolia Warbler, alongside rarities like the Kirtland's Warbler and the Swainson's Warbler.
